Accessibility Statement
Effective 2026-07-29
Local Foodies is committed to making local food discovery accessible to everyone. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA and to continuously improve the experience for people who use assistive technologies.
Our commitments
- Semantic HTML with clear headings, landmarks, and labels.
- Keyboard-navigable interfaces with visible focus indicators.
- Descriptive alt text on meaningful imagery.
- Sufficient text contrast against backgrounds (target WCAG AA).
- Responsive layouts that adapt to phones, tablets, and desktops.
- Regular automated and manual accessibility checks as part of our release process.
Known limitations
Accessibility is an ongoing effort. Some third-party embeds (maps, external websites we link to) may not fully meet our standard. We flag known issues internally and address them in scheduled updates.
Report a barrier
If you experience an accessibility barrier on Local Foodies, please tell us. We take every report seriously and aim to respond within five business days.
How to report
- Use our contact form and select or mention "Accessibility" in your message.
- Include the page URL, the device and browser you were using, and a short description of the issue.
- If a screen reader or other assistive technology was involved, please note its name and version.
Feedback shapes the product
Reports from real users are the fastest path to a better product. Thank you for helping make Local Foodies work for everyone.
